Joss Whedon's new TV series Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D has released its first full trailer.

The show, which extends the Marvel universe onto the small screen, has a preview now available to view on YouTube.

Clark Gregg, who played Avengers Agent Phil Coulson, is back in his role to lead a cast including Brett Dalton (Killing Lincoln) and Iain De Caestecker (The Fades).

The comic book based series from writer and director Joss is about the missions of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division and features Marvel superheroes.

It is launching on US channel ABC in the autumn.

ABC president Paul Lee told Digital Spy: "Not only does it have great relationships and humour, but also it has the promise of the Marvel franchise and that brings it a sense of wonder and excitement and adventure.

"We think it's driven by character and we think it's going to bring a wider audience to us."

Joss is no stranger to the Marvel universe as writer and director of Avengers Assemble and Avengers 2. His previous TV work includes Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel.

Shame Agent Coulson died in Avengers...he'd be perfect for this ;)
