2. If anyone gets this let me know and we can group up and go on some trade routes, go bounty hunting, maybe try a bit of pirating :)

Incredible game, bye bye social life......
3. I want to try it but not enough to sink £50 into it

Having said that it has Oculus support so maybe and I have a HOTAS flightstick on the way
4. I know £50 is asking a lot, especially in PC gaming terms but it is incredible and was looking for something like this since Eve.

Congrats on going for a HOTOS combo, may do something similar at some point. At the moment my trusty Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 Joystick is still going and using that with my steering wheel pedals and an additional keyboard that's micro size, all fits round my desk lovely with my normal gaming keyboard. Feels like a great setup but tempted to go for some head tracking. There's a new gyro-meter head tracking kit just come out called EDTracker which coincidentally was created with Elite Dangerous in mind and seems to be fantastic, only £25 pounds complete too.
5. its not a combo its this one

I would LOVE one of these:

however £40 vs £300
6. Yeh that one your getting comes apart so either combo or separate, would get the same when I need to upgrade. Looks amazing and yes, as stupid as I am not even I can justify £300 for that! Looks nice though :)
7. I have this. Have only played about five hours properly. It's been fun but I haven't spent much time in the beta yet - more in the alpha, which had a lot less content.

Finding big chunks of time to get into it is tricky, though.
8. I am basically starting all over again as I had about 400k invested in a Viper and like an idiot crashed it into a star port and didn't have enough to cover the insurance....... When that happens you get a starter basic ship for free and have to say bye bye to all that time and effort :D Love it!

Currently saving up for a new Viper and going to be doing some pirating at the nav points.

11. No support for Vista? Ouch...
12. The most awesome thing to have for this game...FREE

http://power-grid.roccat.org/en/Home/

Its fantastic, so much better than just a flighstick
13. I'm using AutoHotKey but that app looks awesome too, thanks for the share.
14. Grabbed the Beta at the weekend. Took me straight back to my childhood. Loving it at the moment. Still learning the controls, have been trying out VoiceAttack, it is really cool being able to control lots of the ships systems just using your voice.

Would be interested in grouping up, if anyone doesn't mind flying with a cack-handed pilot.
15. How do you go about teaming up?

I haven't tried the voice commands yet. I'm guessing they've been added quite recently?

I only have about four hours clocked and I really need to get back on there.
16. Haven't got a clue about how to team up, I was hoping someone on here would know.

The voice commands are a separate program, it costs $8 (approx £5) there is a free trial for 21 days http://www.voiceattack.com/ allowing you to set 20 commands. You can also get an additional voice pack for £3.50 that looks like it will add a lot of immersion to the game.

17. I would love to play this as I have fond memories of playing the original on the C64 (arhhhh those trimbles!).
Not into PC gaming so hopefully a console port, at some point.
18. I think it's safe to assume the Elite: Dangerous is coming to consoles. I'm sure I read David Braben saying the team is already working on ports.
19. I watched the David Braben Developer session from Eurogamer yesterday and he mentioned that a console port will come after the PC and Mac versions are finished. I found the session interesting and well worth a watch.

Still really enjoying the game, I am just playing the game in solo mode at the moment to get used to the mechanics. Have only done some trading, no fighting yet. I found a good route between 2 systems and have now managed to upgrade my ship twice first to a Hauler and now to a Cobra mk3.

If anyone hasn't bought a docking computer yet then buy one, not because it makes docking easier but it will bring a smile to your face when you use it if you played the original Elite.
