VGF Eurogamer Expo 2012 Meetup

Ok guys, obviously the VGF meet-up thread is a spir of the moment thing with a few localish guys just meeting up for a few beers. However there's been talk for a while about organising a proper weekend type meet where more of us from slightly further away could get together. There are various events that we could choose but I thought that the Eurogamer Expo would be a perfect opportunity. It's probably a good thing to start organising this now given the popularity of it and also with people having to book hotels etc if needed (and give their others halves enough notice! :rotfl:

).

So here are the details of the event.

Date: 27th-30th September 2012
Location: Earls Court, London

Early bird tickets have already gone on sale, and the good news is that Virgin Media are the headline sponser this year, and if you're a VM customer you can get cheaper tickets, but not on Sat 29th.

Price details:

Thursday, Friday, Sunday - Day ticket (11am-7pm) = £10 or £6 for VM customers
Saturday - Day ticket (11am-7pm) = £10 (no VM tickets available).

There are also a few Early Entry tickets available for the Sunday which lets you get in at 10am rather than 11am. These are £12 each. The Early Entry tickets for the other days are sold out already.

Not sure about peoples preferred dates but I'd think the 29th or 30th would probably be best being weekend days.

I went last year and I have to say it was very good indeed. Lots of people there and great fun. Lots of new games to see and play on (I played MW3, BF3, Skyrim and Rage among others last year) plus freebies (I got a free On Live box last year).

I'll definitely be getting a ticket for this years event. I managed to get a free pass last year as we had a small stand there and I think we may be having a slightly bigger one this year what with RE6 coming out, so I might be able to blag a few passes, but no promises.

Well, I would say I'm in, but ours (VGF Expectent Fathers Club members will be aware :lol:

)is due on the 1st October so it would be a bit too close.

I'm going to check but I predict a no. Got a wedding the week after in Croydon anyway so think it'd be too much on the wallet.

What with Sway's lodge post bring a meetup to peoples attention, I thought I'd bump this thread.

I'd prefer the Thursday or Friday if I'm honest, shouldn't be so packed and I don't mind taking a day's leave to avoid the huge weekend queue's.

Thought I'd bump this again as looking at tickets and to get the day in the diary early. I should be able to make any of the days and am definitely going, but it'd be nice to be joined by some other VGF'ers too. So who is planning on going, and on what day?

Not sure but I'd imagine either the Thursday or Friday really. I went on the Saturday last year and it was heaving.

There are loads of us MVGers going to this on the Friday, I've been to the last 2 events and really enjoyed it, last year there was 30 MVG members there and it was awesome to put the names to there faces, we all really enjoyed it,

Sounds good mate! I was there last year on the Saturday as I was kinda helping on our stand (although spent more time looking about really) and managed to get in early for a look see. Hopefully I'll be able to get a ticket from work but if not I'll be going anyway. Would be good to treat it as a VGF meetup. Maybe get together with some of the MVG boys too!

Right chaps I've got a special treat for some of you. I've been chatting to MVG taylor018 who has very kindly offered us 10 tickets to Eurogamer for a much reduced price. Tickets are normally £12 each but we have been offered them at £7.20, which is quite a saving off the face value.

The tickets are for the Friday (28th Sept) from 11am-7pm.

Therefore if you're interested please let me know and I'll let you know how to make payment etc. There are only 10 tickets available at this price so first come first served I'm afraid. I'll post on here each time a ticket goes so people know how many are left.

As I said in my PM, MVG Taylor has said that the tickets don't actually get sent out. Instead, because they were purchased in bulk, they get sent a single barcode which allows them to be printed on the day. Therefore you'll have to meet up outside Earls Court and pick the tickets up. Hope that's ok mate? MVG Taylor018 said he'll PM you his mobile number nearer the time and arrange when and where to meet to collect the tickets.

Any more takers?
